Investment and Trade Information Service


GIDC provides clients, potential clients, interested persons and stakeholders with up-to-date, accurate and relevant information on the country. To provide this service the Corporation maintains a series of databases, an investment and business webportal and produces a number of publications.

Investment Incentives


To facilitate speedy approval of investment projects, the Corporation provides the following services:

  • Assistance to prepare business plans and complete application for investment incentive
  • Preparation of Investment Incentive Assessment report
  • Certification of investment projects for tax waivers
  • Liaison with the relevant government agencies for the grant of investment permits and licenses


Investment Facilitation & Aftercare

GIDC holds one and one meetings and consultations with potential investors or existing investors to discuss investment projects and/or investment opportunities. The Corporation also provides the following:

  • Same day responses to investment enquiries
  • Reconnaissance assistance for foreign investors to facilitate pre investment site visits. This service includes the preparation of meeting itinerary; customized information kits; airport protocol; airport transfer to and from hotel; introduction to key persons; follow ups etc.
  • Entrepreneurial workshops for potential entrepreneurs to help develop investment ideas and projects
  • Investment seminars, workshops and forums to share information and discuss pertinent issues within the investment environment.
  • Key government contacts and referrals
  • Administrative services such as assistance with work permits for foreign technicians, personnel and their spouses, assistance with obtaining permits and permission to operate and expand, continue facilitation of immigration formalities, introduction to service providers such as banks, lawyers, attorneys, etc.
  • Operational services such as assisting firms to find office space, factory space, recruit staff, obtain power, staff training, identify local supply chains, etc.
  • Strategic services such as advocating policy reform to remove impediments in the investment environment



Entrepreneurial and Business Skills Training

GIDC uses the CEFE methodology to deliver training in entrepreneurship. This is an action-oriented approach and experiential learning methods to develop and enhance the business management and personal competencies of a wide range of target groups. The programme aims to improve the entrepreneurial performance of business persons through guided self-analysis, stimulating enterprising behaviour, and the build-up of business competencies. Persons participating in the programme will be empowered to clarify goals and objectives, develop business strategies and business plans.

In addition CEFE training, GIDC through its Business Development Division offers training in basic business administration and general start up activities. Some areas of training are listed below:

Small Business Support Services


Through its Business Development Division, GIDC provides free diagnostics for small businesses to identify their technical assistance requirements, assistance with product development, marketing, costing and pricing, productivity and financial tools.  Assistance is also provided to register a business, prepare business plans, strategic plans, marketing plans and project proposals.


Industrial Facilities


GIDC provides industrial space for rent on the basis of three (3) to five (5) year leases at the following facilities:

  • Frequente Industrial Park: The Frequente Industrial Park consists of seventeen (17) buildings on twenty-five (25) acres of land. Most of the buildings are made of metal clad steel frames. A few are of concrete construction. The buildings range from 360 sq ft to 27,000 sq ft. The park is located on the Maurice Bishop Highway in Frequente St George’s and contains 198,000 sq ft of factory space.
  • Seamoon Industrial Park: The Seamoon Industrial Park is located in Grenville, St Andrews, the eastern part of Grenada eighteen (18) miles from the capital city of St George’s. The park has five (5) buildings (two of which are adjoined). It is located on 3 acres of land and contains 40,000 sq ft of space.
  • The Grenada Craft Center: This building contains 7,000 sq ft of space and is located on Lagoon road St. George’s. The facility is single building with eight rental units. The building is made of concrete with a steel frame and metal sheet roofing.
  • The St Patrick’s Business Center: a 6,000 sq ft building and eight (8) vendors booth located in Low Town St Patrick’s



Policy Advice


GIDC provides policy advice to government in a number of areas.

  • Monitors the development of approved investments to ensure that project development is in compliance with the conditions under which investment incentives were granted and advise government on appropriate actions
  • Monitor performance of approved enterprises and report annually on the economic impact of the Investment Incentive Programme
  • Monitor the investment climate, examining the interrelated policy areas of modal neutrality, market contestability, policy coherence needs and advocating policy measures that would maintain a good investment climate
  • Makes recommendations to government to upgrade legislation/regulation and protect tax and incentive packages for investors
  • Organizes private/public sector consultations, business forums and round table discussions to obtain feedback and the views of the business community on issues affecting the private sector
